Uh, not exactly. I mean, I'd seen Dad hunting sometimes, so I was able to figure things out. But Mr. Piccolo said that I had to learn to fend for myself before he'd teach me anything.

[He's aware that sounds pretty cruel, so he adds something.] He didn't know what it was like to have friends back then, so he was kinda mean about a lot of things.
